Laser engraving is one of the newest innovations in the monument industry. It allows us to etch highly detailed designs directly into granite, from a simple portrait to a detailed scene. Sandblast engraving allows us to achieve a deep cut into the stone than is possible with laser. So, it’s a trade-off. Sandblasting allows for deeper carving, but cannot engrave fine details, while laser engraving allows finer detail, but at a shallower depth.
